Silvergate Bank is the leading bank for innovative businesses in fintech and cryptocurrency. Once a humble commercial real estate lender in San Diego, Silvergate took a risk in 2013 to begin lending to innovators in the blockchain space, at a time when no one else would.

We partnered with Silvergate on a full-service rebrand in preperation for their IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The new brand would need to legitimize them as an innovator in fintech while not turning its back on the traditonal foundations of their business.

Together, we repositioned the brand to be confident, reassuring, fearless and precise. The bold icon and monochromatic colour palette is balanced by refined typography and a generative imagery and motion system that speaks to the technical nature of their client partnerships.

In November 2019 Silvergate rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange as they went public. The Silvergate stock price has since risen 1500%.
